The DHZ500 disc separator is a specialized solution for the edible oil refining industry, designed for efficient water degumming, acid degumming, and dewatering of crude vegetable oils including soybean, peanut, sunflower, rapeseed, and corn oil. With automatic desludging technology and high separation efficiency, it ensures consistent gum and phospholipid removal while minimizing neutral oil loss.
Crude vegetable oil contains phospholipids, gums, and mucilaginous substances that must be removed before further refining. In the water degumming process, hot water (1-3%) is mixed with crude oil at 70-80°C, hydrating the phospholipids and making them insoluble. The DHZ500 disc separator continuously separates the hydrated gums and water from the oil under high centrifugal force. Heavier gum sludge accumulates in the solids holding space and is automatically discharged, while degummed oil exits through the light phase centripetal pump. This single-pass operation achieves phosphorus levels below 200 ppm, ready for subsequent bleaching and deodorization.

Huading Separator, established in 1954, has over 60 years of centrifugal separation expertise. Our edible oil separators are used in major vegetable oil refineries worldwide for degumming, neutralization, water washing, and dewaxing processes. We provide complete separation solutions for soybean, rapeseed, sunflower, peanut, palm, corn, and cottonseed oil processing.
Q: What phosphorus levels can be achieved after degumming?
A: Single-pass water degumming typically achieves <150-200 ppm phosphorus. For acid degumming with phosphoric or citric acid, levels below 30 ppm are achievable.
Q: Can it handle different oil types without modification?
A: Yes, the DHZ500 can process soybean, peanut, sunflower, rapeseed, and corn oil with simple PLC parameter adjustments and gravity disc changes if needed.
Q: What is the recommended operating temperature?
A: Optimal degumming temperature is 70-80°C for water degumming and 60-70°C for acid degumming.
Q: How often does the desludging system cycle?
A: Desludging intervals are programmable based on feed phospholipid content, typically every 15-60 minutes during continuous operation.
